Geoff Boycott

Born 21 October 1940 to Jane (Jenny) and Tom Boycott, a miner at Hemsworth Colliery, the eldest of three boys, he is eight years old when a fall off railings onto the handle of a mangle ruptures his spleen which has to be removed and the accident causes illness problems throughout his career.
